Footprints Gear is a not-for-profit organisation and Australian charity that donates 100% of the profits from its retail store to support other charities. Footprints Gear combines a passion for outdoor adventure with a deep commitment to philanthropy and social change.
The store is a project with heart that has recently opened in Alstonville, New South Wales.
"Gear for comfort, a conscience and a cause."
So how does this novel concept work?
Footprints Gear is a regular outdoor shop that donates all profits to charity
Footprints Gear is a registered charity
A group of people have donated start up capital to Footprints Gear which will not be returned to those individuals
Footprints Gear employs one person for 38 hours a week; other people volunteer their time to support the shop
Footprints Gear pays for products, electricity, phone, insurance etc
ALL profits after costs are donated to charity
Footprints Gear donates to three charities but it is their dream that as they grow they will donate to 10, 20 or 30 charities.

Supporting 1900 Footprints
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) listed organisation has been kind enough to support 1900 Footprints with some of the equipment necessary for the 1900 km walk coming up in September. Namely, they have donated a top-of-the-line, lightweight, single person tent that will provide excellent shelter in the myriad conditions that I'll likely experience along the way.
